I am 50 years old a pa pa to 3 beautiful Grand kids. I am a retired disabled United States Navy Veteran. I have had a long journey in the uses of a sewing machine. I grew up as an engineer, ya know working on cars or anything mechanical. I became a Machinist late in my career and I found out my love of being able to be able to create and touch what I have created....lol this is the same as I have found in Quilting and Embroidery.
I took my disability kinda hard and in the beginning I really did nothing. I drank, I watched TV to the point of one day realizing that I couldn't do basic math, my memory was gone and my wonderful wife came in one day and challenged me to make a quilt.. Mind you I had never even used a sewing machine, I figured it out and by the time I made my first quilt I was hooked. My mom got me into the embroidery when she let me use her Phaff machine. Well we got lucky and was able to buy a small trade in Brother SE-270D really inexpensively. I have used embroidery in my quilting as an added effect. I just like being able to create anything I can come up with.
I got introduced to working with Mylar from the In " The Hoop Nativity Mylar Tea-lights " located on http://www.artisticthreadworks.com/ and as soon as my first embroidery piece completed wow I was impressed, so anyway now I am looking for more ways to use it in my various projects.
